The
Adaptive Beam Control (ABC) lighting
system is a patented next generation headlight technology
developed for the automotive industry that allows drivers
to have brighter headlights without blinding other vehicles.
How does it work?
The ABC system can be thought of as a headlight with
many beams of light that can be turned on and off individually.
Using a camera to detect headlights and taillights,
computer algorithms turn off only those beams of light
that are directed towards other vehicles.
The ABC system improves driver safety by reducing glare
while at the same time improving night time visibility.
The
system gracefully solves all of the problems that many
auto part manufacturers are trying to address through
varied advanced headlight designs.
