The Face-in-the-Crowd system is a machine vision system used to find and identify specific human faces in a crowd of people in real-time and under real-world conditions.

It was developed under contract with the INS as a test bed for the evaluation of face identification algorithms in the burgeoning days of this biometeric technology.
